Golkar Reinforces Nominations For Airlangga Hartarto In The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - The chairman of Golkar's DPP Ace Hasan Syadzily emphasized that until now Golkar has remained firmly in its position of supporting General Chair Airlangga Hartarto to compete in the 2024 presidential election. This decision has become a unanimous decision at the 2019 national meeting (Munas).

"Confirming that the Golkar Party wants to support Mr. Airlangga Hartarto as a candidate for President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2024," said Ace at the DPR building, Thursday, October 14.

Ace emphasized that the decision was not Airlangga's wish, but the aspirations of all National Conference participants. Starting from the district to the provincial level. On that basis, said Ace, the decision is an organizational decision that must be secured by all cadres.

"This decision has been reaffirmed at the national leadership meeting and at the 2021 national working meeting in March," explained the chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR.

According to Ace, the decision to support and nominate Airlangga had to be long ago.

"In the context of the 2024 presidential election, we have been in a position from the start to nominate Airlangga Hartarto as a presidential candidate," said the West Java electoral district legislator.

Because, said Ace, one of the functions of political parties is to recruit leadership.

"It would be nice, indeed there are the best cadres who are highlighted or nominated by the political party, so that they can occupy strategic positions in leadership both at the central level and at the regional level," concluded Ace.
