Police Investigate Cases Of Persecution Of 5 Santri By Seniors To One Death In Sidoarjo

SIDOARJO - The Sidoarjo Police, East Java is still investigating the alleged mistreatment of students to death in Tanggulangin District, Sidoarjo.

Sidoarjo Police Chief Kombes Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro said that currently he was still investigating the case.

"Please, time, please. We will pass it on to the media," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 14.

From the information gathered, as many as five students at the Islamic boarding school in Tanggulangin District were persecuted by their seniors. From the persecution, one student died and four other students were injured.

Five victims of students who were mistreated by seniors, including MZA (15 ), a resident of Dinoyo Surabaya, died, and FVR (15) a resident of Tegalsari Surabaya. AMN (14) a resident of Sedati Sidoarjo, KSA (15) a resident of Waru Sidoarjo, and RDK (15) a resident of Sedati Sidoarjo.

The incident began with the loss of money belonging to one of the students on Sunday (10/10) and was allegedly carried out by the five victims. The five victims were interrogated by one of the caregivers.

After being interrogated, one of the caregivers received information on the confessions of the five students and admitted that the money had been bought for snacks and cigarettes.

Based on these findings, the caretaker of the boarding school plans to call the parents of the five students.

However, before being summoned, on Monday, October 11 at around 22.00 WIB, five students were allegedly mistreated by their seniors until they were admitted to the Sidoarjo Hospital. However, the fate of the victim of MZA (15) was not saved.

Furthermore, senior santri and boarding school administrators, who numbered a dozen people, were questioned by investigators from the Tanggulangin Police.
