High Unemployment Rate, DPRD Asks DKI Regional Owned Enterprises To Recruit Workforce Graduates Of SMA-SMK
JAKARTA - DKI DPRD member from the PAN faction, Lukmanul Hakim, asked DKI regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) to absorb high school and vocational high school graduates as employees in his company.
Then, Lukman also asked BUMD to apply the link and match concept with the Job Training Center (BLK) in order to increase the skills of prospective workers and in accordance with the needs of the business world and industry.
“By using the concept of link and match, I hope that there will be connectivity between the workforce-the job-training agency-company. So that in the future we can create superior human resources, as well as provide suitable employment opportunities through BUMN/BUMD and private companies," said Lukman in his statement, Thursday, October 14.
Lukman said that this effort is the responsibility of regional-owned companies to help absorb labor in the capital city.
Because, he said, the unemployment rate in Jakarta is currently quite high. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) as of 2020, the open unemployment rate of DKI Jakarta Province is 10.95 percent or equivalent to 572,780 people.
This figure increased from the unemployment rate in 2019 of 4.41 percent or as many as 233,378 people.
So is the poverty rate. As of March 2021, the poverty rate in Jakarta as of March 2021 is 4.72 percent. This figure increased from August 2020 of 4.69 percent.
"There are around 500,000 thousand unemployed in Jakarta and this number will increase every year. Seeing that the pandemic is not over yet, it may be estimated that in 2021 it will increase, so this must be prepared, anticipated," said Lukman.
“So there must be a relationship and compatibility, and this is a note so that it is more serious to be discussed. This should be our concern to overcome unemployment in the future,” he concluded.
