2 Members Of South Kalimantan Mobile Brigade Died In Accident While Patrol In Imika

BANJARMASIN - Two members of the South Kalimantan Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Bharatu Zulkipli and Bharatu Supian died in a traffic accident during a patrol in Mimika Regency, Papua.

"It is true that both of them died while on duty in Papua," said Head of Public Relations of the South Kalimantan Police, Kombes Mochamad Rifa'i, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 14.

The bodies of the two were immediately flown from Mozes Kilangin Airport in Timika, Mimika Regency, Papua at 11.30 WIT and are scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning at Banjarmasin Syamsudin Noor International Airport in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan.

Based on the information gathered, the accident occurred on Wednesday evening in front of the Mimika Regency Government headquarters.

The motorcycle driven by the two victims collided with a bus during heavy rains in Timika City.

One member died at the scene, while the other was rushed to the Mitra Masyarakat Hospital (RSMM) Caritas but was also not saved.
