In Front Of Isran Noor, Firli Bahuri Asks The Public To Monitor Officials In East Kalimantan

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri asked the public to supervise the officials and governance of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government. This request was conveyed so that there would be no more criminal acts of corruption in the middle of the wheels of government.

"We ask the community and the KPK to participate in overseeing all governance and every individual in power in the East Kalimantan Provincial Government," Firli said in a written statement quoted on Thursday, October 14.

He said the public is the eye for the anti-corruption commission to stop corrupt practices by irresponsible officials.

"Because community participation is the main key to eradicating corruption in Indonesia," said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.

In addition, Firli also reminded officials at the East Kalimantan Provincial Government to revise their annual work plan by prioritizing improving community welfare.

"KPK hopes that regional heads make efforts to build programs to realize the country's goals and that requires hard work from all the nation's children," he said.

Responding to Firli's statement, East Kalimantan Governor Isran Noor appreciated the KPK's efforts in encouraging improvements to local government systems and governance to prevent corruption.

Not only that, he invited all parties to monitor the running of his government and reminded his subordinates not to get entangled in the practice of rasuah. "Don't commit a criminal act of corruption," said Isran.
