XX PON Men's Football Final: Papua Admits Aceh's Defense Is Strong

JAKARTA - The coach of the Papuan men's soccer team, Eduard Ivakdalam, admitted that the Aceh team has a strong defense line ahead of the Papua PON final, tomorrow Thursday.

"I think Aceh's defense may be stronger than East Kalimantan," said Eduard Ivakdalam after the match against East Kalimantan last Tuesday at the Mandala Stadium, Jayapura, as reported by Antara.

The former player assessed that every Indonesian team was identical to defensive football if they played outside their area.

This was also done by Aceh when playing in the Papua PON, especially when they met the Papuan team in the last 6 round.

"That's Indonesian football, Indonesian football is synonymous with playing defend. If he goes out to play elsewhere, he automatically defends it," explained Eduard.

The final match of the men's soccer PON Papua between Papua and Aceh will be held at the Mandala Stadium, Jayapura, Thursday, at 19:00 WIT (17.00 WIB).

This match is also a repeat of the last 6 round of PON Papua Group D where Papua won 1-0 over Aceh.

In addition, the Papua vs Aceh match was also a repeat of the 1993 Jakarta PON men's soccer final where the Papuan team won 6-3 over Bumi Rencong.
