Medan City Government Implements Non-Cash Parking Payments As Of October 18
MEDAN - The Medan City Government, North Sumatra has started to enforce non-cash payments for vehicle parking services as of October 18th.
Head of the Medan City Transportation Service (Dishub) Iswar Lubis said the non-cash payment system for parking services was implemented in eight areas in Medan City.
"There are 22 parking points located on 18 roads in these eight areas and will take effect on October 18, 2021," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 14.
The non-cash parking payment system was designed by the Medan City Transportation Agency together with a third party, PT Logika Garis Elektronik, using a profit-sharing system.
"Starting today, both the government and PT Logika Garis Elektronik will socialize to the public regarding non-cash parking payments," he said.
He appealed to all people in Medan City to no longer pay parking fees with cash as of October 18.
"We apologize to the public that on October 18, where there is no application or card, parking will not be allowed. However, later we will provide booths from several banks for card availability," he said.
The use of this non-cash payment system aims to ensure that local revenue (PAD) goes directly to the regional treasury and makes it easier for the public to pay for parking.
"Hopefully the community is served well and PAD will also clearly enter the state treasury which will later be returned to the community through developments," he said.
