Propam Police Headquarters Investigate Viral Brimob Members Kill Students In Tangerang

JAKARTA - The National Police Propam will investigate the viral incident of Brimob members for slamming students in Tangerang Regency, Banten. Propam investigated whether there were procedural errors during mass security.

"Propam Headquarters has gone down to the Banten Police," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono to reporters, Wednesday, October 13.

The Police Propam Team, continued Argo, was examining the Brimob member. However, Argo refused to share the results of the preliminary examination.

"Members (Brimob) are being investigated," said Argo.

For information, the incident began when a number of students held a demonstration in front of the Tangerang Regency Government Center (Puspemkab).

In a video that circulated, a student who was later identified as Faris was seen being slammed to the floor by an officer. This incident occurred when the Police secured a student demonstration right on the 389th Birthday of Tangerang Regency.

Faris was unconscious after being slammed in a violent demonstration that took place in Tangerang recently. Even so, the student admitted that he was in good health and only felt sore even though in the video the police slammed him against a hard surface.

"I'm not dead, now I'm still alive. In normal circumstances, although a little sore," he said while introducing himself after being ordered by a police officer named Leonard, reported by era.id.

What's more sad, it turns out that Faris also admitted that he had not eaten lunch. "Breakfast is done, but if you eat rice, you haven't," he said.
