5,580 Vials Of Sinovac Vaccine And 400 AstraZeneca Arrive At OKU Sumsel, Distribution To 18 Public Health Centers Tomorrow

SUMSEL - Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) District, South Sumatra received 5,580 vials of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine and 440 vials of AstraZeneca. This vaccine will target all groups, from public service officers, the elderly, to children aged 12-17 years.

"This additional dose of vaccine arrived in OKU Regency last Tuesday at around 19.40 WIB," said the Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the OKU Health Service (Dinkes), Andi Prapto in Baturaja, as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 13.

Andi said the vaccine he received is currently still being stored in the Pharmacy Warehouse of the OKU Health Service located in Tanjung Agung Village, West Baturaja District with a temperature that has been determined by the logistics.

Thousands of vials of the vaccine will soon be distributed to 18 health centers spread across 13 sub-districts in OKU Regency and allocated to Baturaja DKT Hospital and OKU Police clinic.

"The plan is to distribute the vaccine on Thursday, October 14 tomorrow," he said.

The distribution of the vaccine itself includes 1,000 vials for the OKU Resort Police, 1,520 vials for Kodim, and 3,060 vials for the OKU District Health Office.

"For the Health Office, 440 vials of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be added which will be allocated to 18 health centers in OKU Regency," he said.

With this additional dose of vaccine, it is hoped that it will accelerate vaccination for OKU residents to achieve group immunity so as to avoid the spread of the corona virus.

"Hopefully the distribution of vaccines in the future will be smooth so that 269,955 OKU residents can be vaccinated until the end of 2021 according to the target," he said, adding that the realization of the vaccination program in his area has so far reached 34.7 percent.
