'Potek' Rp5.2 Billion Compensation For Land Procurement, Head Of Deactivated Gunung Kidul Village Uses For Extravagance

YOGYAKARTA - Gunung Kidul Resort Police, Yogyakarta Regional Police detained RJS, a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the case of compensation for land acquisition for the Southern Cross Road (JJLS) in Karangawen Village, Girisubo District, amounting to Rp5.2 billion.

Gunung Kidul Police Chief AKBP Aditya Galayudha Ferdiansyah said that at this time his party was still exploring the use of compensation money for the JJLS land acquisition which was misused by RJS.

"Currently, we are still examining a number of witnesses and documents related to land acquisition for JJLS," said Aditya in Gunung Kidul, Antara, Wednesday, October 13.

So far, a new corruption case has dragged RJS as a suspect. "Regarding the flow of funds of Rp5.2 billion, the officers are still investigating. Meanwhile, we have only named one suspect, the Karangawen village head, who is inactive. We are still investigating the others," he said.

Aditya said that based on the results of the investigations carried out so far, the acts of corruption had been planned by RJS. The money was used to pay his debts to a number of parties, including to build his house.

"So far, the person concerned went to Kalimantan, then returned here and handed himself over to the Gunung Kidul Resort Police," he said again.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Gunung Kidul Resort Police, AKP Riyan Permana, said that the funds that went into a personal account were still under investigation, including other irregularities.

In this release, police officers present RJS. The JJLS compensation fund for land owned by Karangawen Village amounting to Rp. 7.1 billion was allegedly entered into RJS' personal account.

Then the funds were only deposited into the village account in the amount of Rp. 1.8 billion, while 5.2 billion was used personally.

"As for RJS, who is currently being held at the Gunung Kidul Police, he is subject to Article 2 subsidiary Article 3 subsidiary Article 8 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes with a threat of 20 years imprisonment," he said anyway.

The suspect, RJS, admitted that he deposited it in the village first. Then he used the others for his personal interests, namely for extravagance, paying debts to a number of parties, and being used to build his house.

"There is something I use to build a pyramid in my own house," he said.
