International Flights Open Tomorrow, There Is No Confirmation Of Other Countries' Planes Will Enter Ngurah Rai Bali
DENPASAR - Head of the Bali Tourism Office, Putu Astawa, has not received any news about the arrival of foreign tourists or foreign tourists to the Island of the Gods. Tomorrow, international flights at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, will be opened.
"There hasn't been (tourist arrivals). Because it's too tight, I think the preparation time for these tourists to apply for visas, then the airline will be difficult for him in a short time. So until today there is no information about the arrival of the plane for tomorrow, "said Astawa when contacted, 13 October.
With the short news about the opening of direct international flights to Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport, according to Dispar, it is difficult for visitors from a number of countries whose citizens are allowed to enter Bali.
“Because airlines also need time. (The arrival of foreign tourists) only a matter of time. It can't just be scripted, maybe there are three good planes for the beginning. More will be added later," he said.
This condition is also followed by the absence of hotel reservations by foreign tourists. Once again, Dispar said it would take time for the arrival of foreign tourists to Bali.
"That's what I said earlier that they need time to take care of the airlines. The airlines are also waiting for the passengers, when they only transport three passengers here, it's not economical," said Astawa.
Previously reported, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the government had tightened the requirements for foreign tourists to enter Bali.
Luhut said the tightening of entry requirements was carried out to ensure there would be no increase in cases in Bali, as directed by President Joko Widodo.
"To ensure that there will not be an increase in cases in Bali, the government will tighten requirements ranging from predeparture requirements to on arrival requirements," Luhut said in a virtual press conference, Monday, October 11.
Luhut said that the opening of international flights to Bali which will be carried out this week is expected to be able to restore the Bali economy, which is still far below pre-pandemic conditions.
"However, the opening must still be carried out very carefully, even though the increase in cases has decreased, but Rt is still not below 1," said Luhut.
The following are the tightening requirements for international travelers before entering Bali:
1. Coming from a country with level 1 and 2 confirmed cases with a positivity rate below 5 percent.
2. Negative result of RT-PCR test whose sample is taken max 3x24 hours before departure time. Then, there must be proof of complete vaccination, with the 2nd dose taken at least 14 days before departure and written in English, other than the language of the country of origin.
3. Health insurance with coverage min. USD 100,000 and includes financing for handling COVID-19;
