The DKI Provincial Government has also intensified activities to overcome the impact of the rainy season, including raiding mud in rivers and reservoirs since March 24, 2021 for the East Jakarta area, and continuing in four other city areas in stages from September 2021 to December 2021.
Mud raids are held to lift mud and garbage in the river so as to increase the capacity of rainwater flow.
The DKI Provincial Government will add extra pumps and deploy all pumps, both mobile and fire-fighting pumps to anticipate tidal waves in North Jakarta.
Anies added that DKI also added rain gauges from initially only available in 10 urban villages to 267 urban villages in the capital city to anticipate the impact of the rainy season.
