SOLO - Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka plans to extend limited face-to-face learning (PTM) at all levels of education in Solo in line with the implementation of health protocols in schools that are quite good.
"Elementary schools have started to get used to wearing masks, learning in class to wear masks. I think the children are used to wearing masks," he said in Solo, Central Java, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 12.
According to Gibran, until now there have been no reports regarding the findings of COVID-19 cases due to the limited PTM held in Solo City.
"There have been no findings or case reports in schools," he said.
In this regard, Gibran appreciates teachers, students, and parents who have cooperated to maintain the health protocol.
"Everything was amazing," he said.
Secretary of the Surakarta City Education Office, Dwi Aryanto, said that until now there have been no reports from schools regarding students who contracted COVID-19 as a result of participating in PTM.
His party continues to monitor PTM to ensure the health protocol is running well.
Until now, the maximum capacity for each class is still limited to 50 percent of the total capacity, while the lesson hours depend on the phase.
Gibran said that initially PTM was held for two hours.
"Then there are those who enter the third phase, they run the shift mechanism, such as elementary schools, some are in the morning, some are in the afternoon," he said.
