18 Countries Whose Citizens Can Enter Indonesia From A Low Risk Level For COVID-19

JAKARTA - Coordinator of the Expert Team and Government Spokesperson for COVID-19 Handling Wiku Adisasmito said 18 countries whose citizens were allowed to enter Indonesia were countries with a low to moderate level of risk of COVID-19 transmission.

"Details of the list of countries will later be regulated in a circular update of the task force which will be released soon," said Wiku, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 12.

The opening of international arrivals by Indonesia will be carried out carefully, one of which is by determining the conditions of origin of arrival. The international flight will open on October 14.

Wiku said that the 18 countries are Level 1 countries with low risk, namely countries with less than 20 positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 population, and a positive case rate of less than 5 percent.

Then, several other countries with Level 2 or moderate risk are countries with the number of confirmed cases between 20-50 per 100,000 population with positive cases of less than 5 percent obtained from the assessment guideline by the World Health Organization (WHO) which looks at the rate of transmission and the capacity of the health system. a country.

Meanwhile, regarding the opening of the tourism sector at several points in Indonesia, the government will conduct simulations in the coming days before it officially opens on October 14, 2021.

Wiku said the screening of international travelers was carried out strictly and carefully. The implementation of the quarantine duration to five days is based on strict administrative requirements.

The administrative requirements are proof of full dose vaccination, possession of health insurance and proof of booking quarantine accommodation which guarantees that the person entering is a completely healthy person.

"Specifically related to the quarantine of international players, they will be monitored by the port health office and also the local COVID-19 task force," he said.
