Joining The Segara Magi Segara Central Java Regional Police, Ganjar Pranowo: We Are Gaspol

JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo is ready to step on the gas to fence off the sea (Mageri Segara) to save lives, save the earth, and humanity.

This was conveyed by Ganjar while attending the "Segara Central Java Regional Police" with the Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, Regional Military Commander IV/Diponegoro Maj. Gen. Rudianto, and Forkompinda in Bedono Village, Sayung District, Demak Regency, Tuesday 12 October. He said Mageri Segara is a movement to plant one million mangroves in coastal areas in Central Java.

"Yesterday accompanying the President, the trigger was extraordinary. Central Java responded quickly and instead started from the Regional Police. We just have to back up and gas the police. This is our effort, not only 'early homeland' but also saving the earth and humanity," Ganjar at the location .

Before coming to the mangrove planting site, Ganjar admitted that he had traveled from Bedono Village to Morosari Beach. When he arrived at the beach, he met a woman who had been selling and working in the beach area for a long time.

He heard the story that in the past the area was a land with white sand but now it has sunk.

“The mother pointed out that there was a tomb at the end. He said from the tomb to here (where to sell) it used to be land with white sand. Today is gone. Then he told how to survive as a coastal person with a large enough income from the sea,” he said.

Furthermore, the number one person in Central Java explained the challenges in managing coastal areas such as the Sayung area. Land subsidence in the area is quite high, even faster than sea level rise due to excessive groundwater extraction.

"Then about spatial planning, if it can be controlled properly it can be controlled. Like it or not, we have to plant. Not only fence the sea but also as a source of life for marine ecosystems. ," he said.

Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi said the "Mageri Segara" activity was carried out simultaneously in 16 Polres and Polresta in Central Java, especially in areas that have beaches and rivers. For example along the coast of Central Java and areas on the South coast.

"Each location we plant 10,000. This activity is also to support the recovery of the national economy, so apart from planting mangroves, we also harvest shellfish from Polairud's assistance. We also provide social assistance and vaccinations to residents. This is only the initial trigger, it will be continued," he said.
