Novel Baswedan's Activities After Leaving KPK, More Rest And Provide Training
JAKARTA - Novel Baswedan now spends more of his day resting after not being an investigator for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Novel Baswedan along with 56 other people have been officially dismissed by the KPK since last September 30. They failed in the National Insight Test Assessment (TWK) and could not change their status to ASN as mandated by the KPK Law Number 19 of 2019.
"After being removed by illegal means, of course, I'm currently taking a break," Novel told reporters quoted on Tuesday, October 12.
Not only that, he is also often asked to fill out activities such as training and discussions, which are mostly online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is what Novel does to dedicate himself to the community even though he is no longer working at the KPK.
"(I, ed) fill a lot of activities with zoom, provide training, and other activities at certain universities and institutions. Of course, I want to make the best contribution," he said.
Novel is also still struggling with dozens of other former KPK employees who share the same fate as him. Moreover, the dismissal carried out by the head of the anti-corruption commission was considered arbitrary and violated their rights.
"Of course we understand that this has not been completed and the next stage is still ongoing. Actions that are carried out arbitrarily, against the law, and do not follow justified rules should not be tolerated and allowed," he stressed.
In addition, he also still has the desire to eradicate corruption in various ways. "I am an Indonesian citizen, just like all of us, I also want to eradicate corruption seriously and seriously," said Novel.
"It's not like now where many problems are covered up and there is no desire to eradicate corruption because it all makes us sad and concerned," he added.
Previously, on September 30, 57 KPK employees who did not pass the TWK were respectfully dismissed by the KPK.
The dismissed KPK employees came from various levels of office ranging from deputy, director to functional employees and investigators such as Novel Baswedan, Yudi Purnomo, Rizka Anungata, Harun Al Rasyid, Budi Agung Nugroho and other names.
In addition, there was also a young investigator, Lakso Anindito, who failed after taking a follow-up test because he had just finished his assignment. The Corruption Eradication Commission argued that dozens of employees could not become ASNs, not as a result of laws and regulations such as Perkom KPK Number 1 of 2021, but because of the results of their assessments.
