Novel Baswedan And Colleagues Appreciate National Police Chief Sigit Recruiting ASN: If It's For The Good Of The Country, Of Course It's Our Choice

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo's intention to make 57 former employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the police received appreciation from Novel Baswedan.

This former senior anti-corruption commission investigator believes Listyo's wish is a follow-up to government policy, after failing to become an ASN at the KPK because he did not pass the National Insight Test (TWK).

"I convey that my friends and I appreciate what the National Police Chief has planned. I believe this is also a policy from the government," Novel said, quoted Tuesday, October 12.

He said former KPK employees are certainly ready to contribute to the interests of the nation and state. However, Novel and colleagues are still waiting for the realization of the recruitment plan.

Moreover, until now discussions about their recruitment are still being carried out within the Bhayangkara Corps. "We also want to see what the plan will be and so on," said Novel.

"If we have the opportunity or it is deemed important to contribute to the good of the country, something much bigger will certainly be our choice. But of course, we need to see more clearly," he added.

As previously reported, the National Police continue to show their seriousness in recruiting 57 former KPK employees including Novel Baswedan as ASN. The intention that came directly from the mouth of the National Police Chief has also received approval from President Joko Widodo through the Minister of State Secretary.

Most recently, the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, said that most of the 57 former KPK employees had accepted the offer to become ASN in the Bhayangkara Corps. He said this was known after communication with representatives of dozens of former employees.

"There has been a meeting from them, and some of them will also accept what is offered by the Police," Ahmad told reporters, Monday, October 11.

However, Ramadhan said there are no plans to hold a second meeting with the former KPK employees. The recruitment of Novel Baswedan and colleagues is still in the process so there are no significant developments.

According to him, the National Police is currently still coordinating with the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPANRB) and the National Civil Service Agency (BKN). "There are no problems, the process runs smoothly, it's just a matter of time. It's only a matter of time," said Ramadhan.
