Wanda Hamidah Feels Cheated By Prudential: If Only Rp. 10 Million Is Covered, You Don't Need Insurance!
JAKARTA - A public figure, model as well as a politician, Wanda Hamidah expressed her disappointment with Prudential Indonesia. He admitted that he regretted using the services of the UK-based insurance company, because of problems with bills at the hospital when submitting a claim.
"I regret using Prudential insurance," Wanda wrote, quoted from her personal Instagram account @wanda_hamidah, Monday, October 11.
Initially, Wanda said that she had used Prudential insurance since 2009 with her three children with a premium payment of Rp. 500 thousand per month. Then, when his family members grew by one, he also increased the insurance cover to 5 people.
Then, Wanda admitted that she had increased her premium contribution and increased the benefits from red cards to black cards in 2020. The premiums paid also increased to Rp. 750 thousand and Rp. 1 million, which differed between family members.
Furthermore, Wanda also emphasized that she had not used the insurance for many years. He also planned to use it because one of his children, who is a basketball athlete, was injured and had to undergo surgery.
"We have used @id_prudential insurance for almost 12 years. Until last Sunday, my son, who is a basketball athlete, had to have knee surgery because he has been injured for two years and is not allowed to exercise (for an athlete this is a heavy blow)," he said.
Because she has Prudential insurance coverage, Wanda decided to take her baby to the operating table according to the doctor's advice. The operation is estimated to cost around Rp. 50 million to Rp. 60 million.
"Do you know how much @id_prudential wants to cover? It's only IDR 10 million, brothers and sisters. If only IDR 10 million is covered, there's no need for insurance. Huhuhu. I feel like I've been scammed! I was totally cheated. Sad and hurt mixed into one," said Wanda.
Because of this incident, Wanda also questioned whether all insurance was just sweet in the beginning but in reality it did not match what was offered. He also claimed to be closing all his insurance.
"Is all insurance like this? It's sweet when you just offer it. I feel like closing down all my insurance (I think I'll close all insurance policies)," he continued.
Meanwhile, Prudential Indonesia's Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Luskito Hambali stated that he had contacted Wanda on Sunday, October 10 to provide an explanation for the complaint about the benefits of his policy. According to Lukito, the amount of benefits obtained by Wanda and her children is in accordance with the policy they have.
"We can confirm that the amount of costs covered by the inpatient claim benefit and the surgery benefit is given in accordance with the customer's plan and the policy provisions," said Luskito.
Furthermore, said Lukito, Prudential Indonesia conducts its business with integrity and in accordance with good corporate governance, and obeys the rights of customers according to the insurance policies they have purchased.
"All these things were carried out by Prudential Indonesia in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, especially the Financial Services Authority (POJK) Regulations," concluded Lukito.
