National Children's Day, Jokowi Reminded Children To Obey Health Protocols
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Widodo greeted and reminded children to be disciplined in carrying out health protocols in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic by wearing masks, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds and washing their hands frequently.
Jokowi and Iriana said that the health protocol must always be carried out in the middle of a period of adaptation to new habits. The goal is to avoid transmission and spread of COVID-19.
In addition, President Jokowi and the First Lady invite the children to keep their enthusiasm for learning from home and pray that the COVID-19 pandemic will end soon. So, Indonesian children can reunite with their teachers and friends at school.
"Children keep on learning. Don't forget to be diligent in worshiping, praying to God Almighty that this corona virus pandemic will soon pass. So that children can return to study with teachers at school and play with their friends," said Jokowi. and Iriana through a video broadcast on the YouTube account of the Presidential Secretariat to welcome National Children's Day, Thursday, 23 July.
Jokowi and his wife asked children to be patient in facing the COVID-19 pandemic even though he knew that children wanted to play again with friends and meet families who lived in different places.
So that this could be done immediately, Iriana Widodo then advised children to keep themselves in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic by applying discipline.
"Discipline to wash hands after playing, after studying, and after activities. Discipline on wearing masks when leaving the house and avoiding crowds wherever the children are," said Iriana.
Through the video, Jokowi also said Indonesian children were always memorable for him and for the First Lady.
