Padang Police Inspection Of Hundred Witnesses Investigate Allegations Of Misappropriation Of DPRD Leaders' Thought Funds

PADANG - The Padang City Police, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) has examined more than one hundred witnesses to investigate allegations of misappropriation of funds for the main ideas of one element of the leadership of the Padang Regional House of Representatives (DPRD).

"The investigation process is still ongoing, there are more than a hundred witnesses who have been examined," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Padang Police, Kompol Rico Fernanda, quoted by Antara, Monday, October 11.

The police have not been able to reveal the witnesses who have been examined, but they are all related to the distribution of Pkir funds.

"We have also asked for information from criminal experts in this case, the case has also been carried out several times," said Rico.

When asked about the determination of the suspect, Rico said his party was still finalizing the investigation process and completing the evidence.

"There is still (evidence) that needs to be completed, as soon as it is fulfilled a suspect will be determined," said Commissioner Rico.

The case of alleged misappropriation of one of the leaders of the Padang DPRD was handled by the Padang Police after receiving a public report in April 2021.

The report stated that there was an alleged misappropriation of funds for the main ideas (pokir) of one of the legislators in the Padang DPRD, so an investigation was carried out.

The thought fund disbursed in 2020 is a problem because the amount received by residents is not in accordance with the amount that should be.

It was stated that the recipients were given Rp. 1.5 million in cash, but some of them were asked to return Rp. 500 thousand.

Therefore, the police then summoned several parties including members of the IM council to process and clarify reports of alleged misappropriation of poker funds.
