What Will Happen To PON XX Papua If Clean Water Is Not Smooth?
JAKARTA - Organizing a large-scale event at the level of the National Sports Week (PON) is not only a matter of venue infrastructure readiness. But other supporting things, should not be ignored. Such as providing clean water.
Imagine what it would be like if the PON in Papua had a problem of lack of clean water. So if the clean water runs smoothly, everything feels good. However, once these essential factors are blocked, their effects often extend to other things.
This is also the concern of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR). Various clean water facilities and infrastructure to support the provision of drinking water for the XX PON venue in Papua Province have been completed.
In accordance with the mandate of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 10 of 2017 and Presidential Instruction No. 1 of 2020, the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Cipta Karya built 7 sports arenas to support PON Papua.
The seven venues built are the Aquatic and Papua Bangkit arenas in Harapan Village, East Sentani District and the Cricket and Hockey Fields arena (Indoor and Outdoor) in Doyo Baru Village, Waibu District as well as 3 additional venues, namely the Skate, Rowing and Archery arenas.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that the availability of water was needed in addition to drinking water needs in every sports arena, as well as for venue maintenance, such as watering the hockey field.
"I ask for the availability of this water to be considered, it can be maximized according to needs," said Minister Basuki while reviewing the Hockey venue in Doyo Baru Village, Papua, some time ago as quoted from the official website of the Ministry of PUPR, Monday, October 11.
