JAKARTA - The government through the Deputy Minister of Finance (Wamenkeu) Suahasil Nazara said that a professional financial profession can play an important role in accelerating economic recovery and providing support towards a Golden Indonesia in 2045.
"This is our belief. We believe that the financial profession in charge of the financial sector in Indonesia will bring Indonesia to be more advanced in the future," he said during a virtual speech at the 2021 Finance Profession Expo, Monday, October 11.
According to the Deputy Minister of Finance, economic recovery cannot be carried out by only one financial profession, but a synergy of the financial profession is needed to continue to create collaborations both between the financial profession and between the financial profession and regulators.
"I hope that the corridor of professionalism, the corridor of integrity, the corridor of sustainability, the corridor of accountability and also the corridor is good to maintain public trust in our financial sector," he said.
The representative from Sri Mulyani assessed that the role of the financial profession was very important in the process of economic recovery. For this reason, financial professionals in making regulations, guidance and protocols in the financial sector must be able to understand and incorporate how the regulations are made to support the recovery process and are not procyclical.
