PKS Reluctant To Respond To Prabowo Nyapres Again, Instead Encourages Salim Segaf Al Jufri
JAKARTA - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) refuses to respond further to the plan of the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, who will again run as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
The chairman of the PKS DPP, Mardani Ali Sera, said that at this time it was still not appropriate to talk about the 2024 presidential election because it was still a pandemic. As for the political coalition, PKS is still waiting for the decision of the Syuro Council. Mardani said that his party is currently focusing on preparing its internal strategy to be proposed as a presidential candidate.
"PKS has a strategy to advance its figures to date," said Mardani Ali Sera, Monday, October 11. However, Mardani emphasized that PKS internally wanted to propose the Chairman of the PKS Syuro Council, Salim Segaf Al Jufri, as a national figure who was championed as a presidential candidate for 2024.
"Habib Salim Segaf Al Jufri, the chairman of the PKS Syuro Council, has been decided to become a national figure," said Mardani. Previously, the Gerindra Party ensured that General Chair Prabowo Subianto would run for president in the 2024 presidential election.
The Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani, revealed the certainty of Prabowo's participation in the Regional Coordination Meeting of the Gerindra South Sulawesi Regional Representative Council, Saturday, October 9. The party bearing the symbol of the Garuda bird is targeting Prabowo's vote in South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi) to win with a percentage of 65 percent.
"I said, in 2024, Pak Prabowo, God willing, will advance in the presidential election," said Muzani in his statement, Sunday, October 10.
