BANTUL - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said, the Skyline Tourism Village, Mangunan, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, was nominated for the top 50 out of 1,831 tourist villages participating in the 2021 Indonesian Tourism Village Award competition organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Sandiaga said that one of the keys to the success of the Kaki Langit tourist village is the ability to stimulate the local community's economy by opening tourism and other economic services businesses.
"Apart from our ability to involve the community, there are also more than 400 new businesses that have grown since this tourist village started its activities. If you multiply it by four, it means that 1,600 people have found jobs," he said.
The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy said that with the existence of the Foot Sky Mangunan Tourism Village, the community's income from tourist spending felt by all tourism actors in Mangunan Village reached more than IDR 3 billion.
"Therefore, without delay, I signed this inscription as a marker of the success and achievements that have been achieved by the Mangunan Foothills Tourism Village," he said.
Sandiaga said that the success of the Kaki Langit Mangunan Tourism Village could not be separated from the local government leadership policies that have empowered the community and paid special attention to improving road access facilities to tourist areas.
"What I see is leadership, leadership from Ngarso Dalem (Governor of DIY) who empowers the community, and builds a road whose class is probably one of the best roads," he said.
Menparekraf said, furthermore, enthusiastic community participation by opening businesses, such as micro-enterprises, which ultimately stimulated the local community's economy, because they immediately felt the positive impact of tourism activities.
"Once the economy moves, this tourist village is felt to provide benefits. And these benefits are our means to increase employment, income, and welfare. That is the key to the success of the Mangunan Sky Tourism Village," said Sandiaga.
