Papuan Police Chief Prepares Prizes For XX PON Medal Winning Members
JAYAPURA - Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri prepared gifts or rewards for members of the National Police in his area who can donate medals at the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON).
"In addition to appreciating their achievements, I will also reward members of the National Police who participate in making Papua proud by donating medals," said Inspector General Fakhiri in Jayapura, quoted by Antara, Sunday, October 10.
However, the Papuan Police Chief has not yet decided on the form of reward that will be given to his members who excel in this four-year championship because it is still under discussion.
Based on data compiled by the Papua Regional Police, to date there are two members who won medals, namely Brigpol Tetih who won a gold medal in the rock climbing sport and Bripda (Polwan) Ludia Giay got a bronze medal from the sport of fencing.
"Both of them are members of the Jayapura Police," said Inspector General Fakhiri, who is also the head of the Papua XX PON delegation.
Regarding the achievement of the Papuan contingent, Inspector General Fakhiri hopes that there will be many surprises so that it can boost the position of the Bumi Cenderawasih contingent which is currently in fourth position with 61 gold, 32 silver, 59 bronze.
The West Java contingent occupies the top three positions with 81 gold, 65 silver and 72 bronze. Next followed by East Java with 69 gold, 61 silver, 54 bronze and DKI Jakarta with 68 gold, 55 silver, 70 bronze.
In accordance with the schedule for the biggest four-year championship in the country and this is the first time it will be held in Papua, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin will close it at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Friday, October 15.
