Shin Tae-yong Arrived In Jakarta
JAKARTA - The head coach of the Indonesian national team Shin Tae-yong arrived in Jakarta on the evening of Wednesday, July 22. Shin arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang, at 20:20 WIB with four colleagues in the national team coaching staff, namely Kim Hae-woon, Kim Woo-jae, Lee Jae-hong and Gong Oh-kyun and immediately left for the capital.
Quoted from Antara, Thursday, PSSI Chairman Mochamad Iriawan said he was happy with Shin's return from the country of Ginseng.
"The arrival of coach Shin Tae-yong is not only awaited by PSSI but also by all football lovers in Indonesia who hope that the national team can achieve through his touch," said Iriawan.
In Jakarta, Shin Tae-yong will lead the training camp (TC) for the Indonesian senior national team and U-19 which will take place from 23 July-8 August 2020.
Shin Tae-yong and the coaching staff of the Indonesian national team who just arrived from South Korea did not have to undergo a 14-day quarantine.
According to the Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Gatot S. Dewa Broto, quarantine is only carried out if symptoms of COVID-19 are found.
However, they along with 29 senior national team players and 46 U-19 national team players who were summoned to TC will take a COVID-19 swab test on Friday.
The Indonesian national team will face the last three Group G matches in the second round of the 2022 World Cup Qualification for the Asian zone, namely challenging the hosts Thailand on October 8, 2020, then hosting the United Arab Emirates on October 13, 2020 and traveling to Vietnam to fight the owner of the home on November 12, 2020.
Although the opportunity to qualify for the third round is closed, PSSI wants the national team to get the best results to boost FIFA's ranking.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian U-19 national team will compete in the 2020 U-19 Asian Cup which will take place in Uzbekistan on 14-31 October 2020.
This squad is projected to become the U-20 national team that will compete in the U-20 World Cup in 2021.
