Enter Komodo National Park Online Register, Maximum 25 People Per Day

JAKARTA - Tourism in Labuan Bajo and Komodo National Park has reopened after being closed during the pandemic. The West Manggarai Regency Tourism Office stated, to travel to these two destinations, tourists must register online by selecting a travel agent that is legally registered and has an office in Labuan Bajo.

"So in this new normal there will be restrictions on tourists who want to visit Labuan Bajo or to Komodo National Park, therefore every tourist who comes must register first and also have to choose an official travel agent that is registered with us and has an office in Labuan Bajo. Beyond that it is prohibited, "said Head of West Manggarai Tourism Agency Agustinus Rinus to Antara, when contacted from Kupang, Wednesday.

He said the local government is trying to put travel agents in order to stay in the tourism business, one of the ways is by requiring tourists to register through travel agents that are registered with the tourism office in West Manggarai district.

Agustinus said that tourists who want to travel to Labuan Bajo can access the https://booking.labuanbajoflores.id/ link so that later on, the number of tourists who will visit tourist areas can be arranged.

He said in the link, later there would be a list of travel agents that were official and were officially registered with the tourism office in West Manggarai Regency.

In this new normal period, tourists who come to Komodo National Park are limited. The number only reaches 25 people per day. This policy was carried out to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

In addition to managing people, the entry of ships to Komodo National Park is also arranged for each spot. Agustinis gave an example, for tours to Padar Island, only 5 tour boats are allowed in the area.

"The number of ships is also regulated for each spot. Therefore online registration is applied to record and prevent the buildup of ships in the tourist areas visited," he said, adding that this policy was related to local government efforts to support tourism actors in West Manggarai so as not to lose money amid the pandemic. COVID-19.

The West Manggarai Tourism Office together with the Labuan Bajo Tourism Authority Board and the Komodo National Park Office have determined that the opening of tourist areas both at sea and on land is carried out in three phases.

The first phase starts July 6 for local tourists in NTT, phase two for domestic tourists and phase three for all tourists both domestic and international.

Currently, for the first phase, tourists can travel both in tourist areas on land and in the sea, especially in Komodo National Park by implementing health protocols.
