Condemns Case Of Alleged Child Abuse In East Luwu, KPAI Urges Police Headquarters To Intervene
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) condemned the alleged rape by a father of three children in East Luwu, South Sulawesi. Supposedly, the father is a protective figure for children and families.
"I express my concern and condemn the alleged sexual violence perpetrated by a father against his three daughters," said KPAI Commissioner Retno Listyarti in a statement, Saturday, October 9.
Then, KPAI asked the police to immediately reopen the investigation of the discontinued case alias SP3. In fact, it was the Police Headquarters who were encouraged to handle this case.
This is to convince and find the facts in the alleged rape case. Thus, there are no more debates and other issues that develop.
"Because there is a difference between the results of the police post-mortem and the results of the post-mortem held by the mother, so that there is no slander and cyber attacks on each other, the case should no longer be handled by the East Luwu Police, but should be handled by the Police Headquarters in Jakarta, then the post-mortem as well. An independent psychological examination was carried out as a comparison with the findings of the East Luwu Police and East Luwu P2TP2A," said Rento. . Therefore, there must be a deterrent effect for perpetrators of crimes against children.
"Because in the UUPA, if the perpetrator is someone who is closest to the victim, 1/3 of the punishment can be given. Given that parents should protect their children, they should not become perpetrators of sexual violence against their children," said Retno.
