Murai Bird Thief Specialist In East Jakarta Contest Recorded By CCTV, Losses IDR 6.5 Million

JAKARTA - A specialist in chirping bird thieves raided a resident's house in the Billymoon Complex, Jalan Tumpi 5, Pondok Kelapa, East Jakarta.

The theft of the perpetrator was caught on a CCTV surveillance camera in the house and went viral on social media Instagram.

From the CCTV video footage, the perpetrator came alone using a motorbike that had been parked in front of the victim's house. The perpetrators also observed the situation in the area.

After being deemed safe enough, the perpetrator, who looked like a teenager, immediately entered the victim's house by jumping over the gate.

Then the perpetrator lowered the cage for the chirping bird of the contest, the type of stone magpie belonging to the victim, Soenardi. Slowly, the perpetrator was seen putting down the cage and taking the stone magpie he was aiming for using his right hand.

After grasping the stolen stone magpie, the perpetrator fled by jumping back out of the gate. He also stepped on the gas with the Honda Beat he was driving.

According to the victim, Soenardi, the incident occurred on Saturday, October 9, early in the morning. The theft was caught on CCTV cameras in his house and around the location.

"The loss of the stone magpie ranges from Rp. 6.5 million to Rp. quiet and silent. So the perpetrator managed to escape.

"At this time, I haven't thought about reporting it to the police, but I don't know if the local RT will tell you later," he said.
