JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno stated that "Omah Budoyo Jogja" supports two pillars that can have a major impact on job creation among the community, namely micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and entrepreneurship.

"This place will open soon, we will see how the presence of this place can have an impact on the revival and recovery of our tourism and creative economy. Thus, our tourism will be of higher quality and will open up business opportunities and more jobs," said Sandiaga Uno in the Special Region. (DI) Yogyakarta quoted by Antara, Friday, October 8.

Omah Budoyo Jogja is a creative visual space or cultural pocket that presents a variety of creative economy products ranging from crafts, fashion, and culinary.

These creative products are the result of designs by various designers which are produced entirely by local craftsmen.

"Today we see a collaboration between artisans curated by Mr. Warwick Purser (curator and owner of Omah Budoyo Jogja) who represents various elements of art such as crafts, fashion, culinary, and several other products that are packaged very nicely," he said.

With this curation, the products presented have high value and quality and are ready to enter the international market.

The existence of Omah Budaya Jogja is said to have four zones that tourists can enjoy. First, the exhibition gallery is a space for artists to be able to exhibit their works.

Every two months this gallery is said to be presenting exhibitions of works by different artists.

Then, there is a restaurant that serves Javanese specialties, as well as a pavilion which will be a space to share knowledge through various classes that are presented. These include classes in batik, ceramics, meditation, yoga, gamelan classes, and macapat (traditional Javanese poetry).

Next is a store that presents a variety of creative economy products ranging from fashion, accessories, jewelry, and furniture.

As the curator and owner of Omah Budoyo Jogja, Warwick Purser, hopes that his creative space can have a big impact on local artists and the general public.

"We want to develop people's love for local traditions and products so they can compete with foreign products because in terms of quality and stories, we have huge potential," he said.
