Jokowi Appreciates Wayan Koster Et Al Successfully Reduced Active Cases Of COVID-19 In Bali Down To 95 Percent
DENPASAR - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) praised the handling of COVID-19 in the Province of Bali which has succeeded in reducing active cases to 95 percent from the peak of cases.
"So keep the case as low as possible for a long time, keep pressing it. This really has to be consistent," Jokowi said while giving a briefing at the Bali Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) in Denpasar, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 8.
The daily addition of cases in Bali on Thursday, October 7, was only 60 cases, or down far from the peak of 1,910 cases in August 2021.
In addition, active cases also decreased from 13,803 cases to only 605 cases. The President hopes that the trend of COVID-19 cases in Bali can continue to be reduced.
The President reminded regents, mayors, police chiefs, and Kodim commanders to continue to pay attention to several indicators of the COVID-19 situation, such as the bed occupancy ratio (BOR).
"This is BOR, the WHO (World Health Organization) standard is below 60 (percent), we are already at these numbers, Karangasem, Bangli, Buleleng, Denpasar City, Gianyar, Jembrana, Badung, Klungkung, Tabanan, I think everything is in good position," he said.
In addition, Jokowi also asked that the availability of drugs and oxygen be considered in detail. This effort needs to be done so that when there is a lack of oxygen, all parties can handle it so that there are no delays in the field.
"As soon as there is a red one, we will immediately pursue it so that it is not too late," said Jokowi.
Jokowi also appreciated the achievement of vaccination in Bali which had reached 98 percent for the first dose and more than 80 percent for the second dose.
"In general, it's 80 percent, I think it's very high. So I ask only the elderly to be pursued, raised," he said.
