Malang Mayor Sutiaji Examined By East Java Police For 5 Hours Case Of Alleged PPKM Violation Gowes Troupe

SURABAYA - Malang Mayor Sutiaji was investigated for alleged violations of health protocols (prokes) during the implementation of community activity restrictions (PPKM). Malang Mayor Sutiaji was questioned for 5 hours at the East Java Police Headquarters, Surabaya.

"He came cooperatively and was asked for information from 10 am to 3 pm," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 5.

Sutiaji's arrival to the East Java Regional Police was accompanied by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of the Malang City Government. Even so, Gatot did not convey the results of the investigation.

"Regarding the contents of the examination, I can't get it from the investigators," he said.

After the examination, it is planned that Sutiaji will be called back to conduct a case to find out the continuation of the alleged violation of the prokes.

"If it's enough, later the Gakkum Task Force will process it. If it is still needed, there will be a witness summons for questioning," he said.

Previously, Mayor Sutiaji cycled or rode with his entourage in the Kondang Merak Beach area, Sumberbening Village, Bantur District, Malang Regency, East Java.

The activity was reported by community elements as a violation of health protocols because the area was still in PPKM level 3.

"We report a violation of the health protocol by the Mayor of Malang Sutiaji and his entourage," said JAASMARA spokesman A Mevlana at the Malang Police Headquarters.
