Update On COVID-19 As Of July 22: New Cases In 6 Provinces Over 100

JAKARTA - The number of new COVID-19 cases continues to grow. Based on data from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) as of July 21 at 12.00 WIB, a total of 25,302 specimens have been examined with confirmed positive cases reaching 1,882 people.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 91,751 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Wednesday, July 22.

As of today, there are 6 provinces with the addition of new cases above 100. Provinces with the most new cases are in DKI Jakarta with 392 cases and a total of 17,621 cases.

Then, Central Java with 319 new cases and a total of 7,726 cases. East Java has 265 new cases and a total of 19,093. East Java is also the province with the most cases in Indonesia.

Furthermore, North Sumatra has 169 new cases and a total of 3,163 cases. South Sulawesi has 150 new cases and a total of 8,407 cases. Then, South Kalimantan with 133 new cases and a total of 5,216 cases.

Meanwhile, for the addition of cured cases, the numbers are not much different. A total of 1,789 people were confirmed as infected by COVID-19. That way, the total will be 50,255 cured cases.

In fact, positive cases with death also increased considerably. Around 139 people have died from COVID-19. So that the number of cases died to 4,459 people.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 1,283,109. In detail, as many as 1,252,273 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 30,836 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 44,222 people. Meanwhile, the number of areas affected by the corona virus has reached 469 districts / cities out of 34 affected provinces in Indonesia.
