COVID-19 Update As Of October 8: 1,384 New Cases, Accumulated 4,225,871 Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 268,146 specimens were examined with the result that there were 1,384 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,225,871 people and active cases of 27,747," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Friday, October 8.
Today's recovered cases increased by 3,514 cases, bringing the total to 4,057,760 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 66 people and a total of 142,560 people.
The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 150 cases and a total of 858,921 cases. Followed by Central Java with 144 new cases with a total of 482,913 cases. East Java has 119 new cases and a total of 396,443 cases. Then, West Java with 107 new cases and a total of 703,636 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to North Kalimantan with an increase of 1,110 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 209 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 169 recovered cases, and North Sumatra with an additional 146 recovered cases.
No province has reported no new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 41,116,704.
"Positive results per number of people tested or this week's positivity rate of 0.98 percent," he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 253,067 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
To date, 98,146,308 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 56,106,006 people have received the second dose of vaccination.
While the third dose of vaccination was 992,000. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
