Papua Becomes The Largest Area In The Distribution Of 4G BTS Development
JAKARTA - During 2021 and 2022 the Papua region will soon be covered by 4G services, especially in the blank spot area. With a total of 5,204 4G BTS infrastructure developments totaling 5,204 locations.
"In all of Papua, it is planned to build additional 5,204 4G BTS locations in the next two years. As for all of Indonesia, all 4G BTS to be built in the next two years will have a total of 7,904 locations," said Director of BAKTI Kominfo Anang Latif in a statement quoted by VOI from the Ministry of Communications and Informatics website, Thursday, October 7.
"That means around 65 percent of the total national 4G BTS construction is in Papua," he added.
Anang emphasized that this was in line with the government which would continue to accelerate digital transformation. "Moreover, the Papuan people in this national digital transformation acceleration program get special focus, due to regional considerations and the level of digitization, the quantity of 4G BTS being built is not kidding," said Anang.
Furthermore, Anang also detailed the number of 5,204 4G BTS locations in Papua complementing the hundreds of BTS that had been built in previous years.
"From 2015 to 2020, 437 locations in the provinces of Papua and West Papua have been built. It consists of 224 BTS locations in West Papua and 213 BTS locations in Papua," explained Anang.
Previously, as reported, PT Telekomunikasi Seluler Indonesia (Telkomsel) will also provide 4G BTS services in the 3T area, and that includes Papua. And will be divided into 9 areas of cooperation packages. XL Axiata also gets a 4G BTS area package.
