Found Dead In Ringroad, Ojol Driver In Medan Allegedly Killed By A Gang Of Thieves
MEDAN - An online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol) named Zainal Abidin Silitonga was found dead covered in blood on Ringroad Street, Medan Selayang District, Medan City. He is thought to have died as a victim of a gang of robbers.
"It happened at 02.00 WIB. Well, the online motorcycle taxi application was not active at that time," said victim's relative Heri, Thursday, October 7.
According to him, Zainal was suspected of being a victim of robbery because his valuables were lost. The victim's motorbike, cash and cellphone were not found at the scene.
"My friend also suffered serious injuries to his face and body due to a sharp weapon," said Heri.
Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Medan Police, Kompol Rafles Langgak Putra Marpaung confirmed this incident.
"We are investigating, for the victim after receiving medical treatment at the North Sumatra Police Bhayangkara Hospital, the victim was declared dead by the doctor," said Kompol Rafles.
