For The Sake Of Shin Tae-yong, PSSI Sowan Went To The South Korean Embassy For Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) seems to be fulfilling the wishes of the Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, who wants to hold a training camp (TC) in South Korea. PSSI Chairman Mochamad Iriawan had a meeting with the South Korean Ambassador to Indonesia, Jeon Joyoung, to discuss the possibility of TC in Gingseng Country.
This meeting was held for the sake of paving the way if later the Indonesian national team had to go to South Korea. Of course, with the assistance of the South Korean Embassy in Indonesia it will simplify matters in administrative matters.
"I hope the meeting between PSSI and the South Korean Embassy in Jakarta can make the national team have no trouble flying there," said Iriawan.
During the meeting, Joyoung provided support for the Indonesian national team to hold training in Korea. His party promised to fully assist all activities of the training camp for the Indonesian national team starting from departure until later in South Korea. In fact, the South Korean embassy is ready to help if the Garuda squad wants to try out with clubs there.
"Of course, by continuing to apply health protocols in our country," he said.
Even so, Joyoung hopes that the training and trials of the Indonesian national team in South Korea do not need to be forced. He asked PSSI to coordinate with Shin Tae-yong regarding conditions in South Korea. As is known, the COVID-19 pandemic is still hitting, including in Gingseng Country.
"I will also monitor conditions in South Korea so that support is maintained for the Indonesian national team," said Joyoung.
Meanwhile, PSSI does not need to worry about TC costs while in South Korea. The government, in this case the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), is ready to bear it. Of course, PSSI must meet the requirements requested by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, considering that what is used is state money.
"(Indonesian National Team) Want to take the training anywhere, please. We will facilitate," said Menpora Zainudin Amali.
The Indonesian National Team TC will begin on July 23 in Jakarta. Coach Shin Tae-yong is scheduled to directly lead the training process. The former South Korean national team coach will arrive in Indonesia on Wednesday night, 22 July.
