Snapchat Again Challenges TikTok By Offering Creators Special Rewards
JAKARTA - To compete with Instagram and TikTok, Snapchat has just introduced a series of new tools, programs and features that allow content creators on its platform to generate revenue.
The update includes a Gifting feature for content creators worldwide, the expansion of the Creator Marketplace to include Snap Stars, the top creators with verified accounts, the launch of guide information called Creator Hub, and a new way for content creators to create short videos against TikTok, within the app. , known as Spotlight.
Lastly, Snapchat is rolling out a rewarded challenge feature dubbed, Spotlight Challenges, where creators will earn cash for creating the best Spotlight content. This program differs from Creator Funds, which pay based on metrics such as how many people watched and who qualified.
Quoting TechCrunch, Thursday, October 7th, on the contrary, this is a content creator's opportunity to win a total prize of US$1,000 to US$25,000. This challenge is intended to get users interested in using certain Lens, Audio, or #Topic features. These challenges will be displayed on the Spotlight Trends page, which can be accessed by tapping the trend icon at the top right of the Spotlight main screen in the Snapchat app.
On the Trends page, users can view available challenges, read about delivery details and related prizes, then users will be directed to open the camera and create content. Snap's new Challenge program looks set to be more transparent around payouts, as content creators can see in advance what the rewards are.
Please note, this Challenge does not replace creator payments with rewards. This new feature will be in addition to the millions it distributes per month to the top Spotlight creators.
