Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution Asks 2 Weeks Minimum 20 Percent Of Students To Be Vaccinated
MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution asked the regional apparatus organizations (OPD) related to the two-week period at least 20 percent of students in this area have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
"Alhamdulillah, we are now down to level 2. I ask that within two weeks, the number of students who are vaccinated is at least 20 percent," Bobby Nasution said in Medan, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 6.
He said this when accompanied by the Head of the Medan City PKK TP Kahiyang, who reviewed the implementation of vaccinations for students of SMP Negeri 40 on Jalan Kelambir Lima, Tanjung Gusta Village, Medan Helvetia.
Bobby Nasution said that if the number of students in the capital city of North Sumatra Province was above 20 percent who were vaccinated, then his party gave permission for schools to hold face-to-face learning (PTM).
President Jokowi's son-in-law said that according to the rules, Medan City has been able to conduct PTM since the implementation of the restriction on community activities (PPKM) down to level 3.
But the number of students who were vaccinated had not reached the target, he continued, so the implementation of PTM was postponed because only 4,000 people out of 105,000 students were vaccinated, because at PPKM level 4, students did not dare to vaccinate.
"Based on the Medan rules, PTM was allowed, yesterday the governor was also allowed. Instructions from the Minister of Home Affairs, PTM implementation must be seen from the regional zone. SMP Negeri 40 can already, because this area has entered the green zone," said Bobby Nasution.
The Medan City Government also ensures health protocol facilities in every school so that the spread of COVID-19 does not occur, but it is feared that health care facilities outside schools will occur.
"We continue to carry out mask raids and medical procedures to give parents a sense of security. In addition, we also urge parents to pick up their children to school so they can go straight home," said Bobby Nasution.
