Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno Interested In Building A Borobudur-Liyangan Sindoro Slope Tourism Pattern
TEMANGGUNG - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahudin Uno is interested in establishing a pattern for the Borobudur-Liyangan site on the slopes of Mount Sindoro, in Liyangan Hamlet, Purbosari Village, Ngadirejo, Temanggung Regency, Central Java.
"Incidentally, Borobudur is one of five super priority destinations and we are still building a travel pattern and if later the story that Liyangan is Borobudur's 'great-grandfather' is very interesting," he said in Temanggung as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 6.
Sandiaga conveyed this at a Relaxing Meeting with Tourism Actors at the ex-Kewedanan Parakan Hall, Temanggung Regency.
"In my opinion, we will have to sit down together and find the right 'event', because earlier in the Temanggung Regent's report it was stated that there was a festival and many artists in this Temanggung," he said.
According to Sandiaga, this is a new spirit for revival and Temanggung has creative economy products such as coffee, culinary, and extraordinary scenery.
"There is also a Mount Wuluh tourist attraction which has a very 'magical' story," he continued.
Menparekraf asked all parties to do 3G, which is to move quickly, move together, and work on all potentials because Temanggung is a buffer zone for Borobudur which is a super priority destination.
"If there is a Liyangan package, it is extraordinary. It is very interesting and I will promote tourism in Temanggung Regency," said Sandiaga.
He conveyed that the creative industry players, especially culinary, craft, and fashion can make improvements and in the midst of the difficulty of getting jobs now, the creative tourism industry is six times more capable of creating business opportunities, especially in the midst of a post-pandemic revival.
The Regent of Temanggung M. Al Khadziq said that in Temanggung Regency since the 2nd century AD there has been civilization, namely the discovery of the Liyangan Site. In Temanggung Regency, there are about 1,750 art groups from 60 types of arts.
Temanggung Regency has 92 registered destinations, of which about 20 are active, mostly tourist villages.
"There are 20 tourist villages, but most of them are still in the form of village tourism, so they still need guidance so that this tourist village becomes even better," added the Menparekraf.
According to Sandiaga, Temanggung also has the potential for "sport tourism", especially sports related to the mountain, it can be in "downhill, motor cross, and offroad" bicycles.
