Mayor Of Kediri Mas Abu Proud Of Regional Athletes Donating PON Medals

KEDIRI - Mayor of Kediri Abdullah Abu Bakar was proud and congratulated his regional athletes who won medals at the XX Papua PON event.

"On behalf of the government and on behalf of the people of this city, I congratulate and give appreciation to my fellow athletes who fought hard so that they could donate medals for East Java," said the Mayor of Kediri, who is familiarly called Mas Abu, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 6.

There were three athletes from Kediri who succeeded in donating medals for East Java in the XX Papua PON event. They are Ronaldo Ferda Garda who won silver from artistic gymnastics in the team number, Rahul Faliquli Iscbah won bronze from taekwondo, and Ghanes Bagus Pandega won bronze from athletics.

The Mayor of Kediri is very proud of the achievements achieved by Kediri City athletes who have competed in XX Papua PON. These athletes have fought and given their best in every match.

Mas Abu also gave enthusiasm and motivation to athletes who had not yet competed. It is hoped that athletes who have not yet competed will get the best results and maintain sportsmanship.

"I hope that athletes must continue to carry out health protocols and uphold sportsmanship. Hopefully they can provide the best results for East Java and the City of Kediri in particular," he said.

Congratulations were also conveyed by the Mayor on Instagram social media by uploading photos of the medal winners.

The Kediri Mayor's upload also received a positive response from the winners. Through their Instagram account, a thank you letter was also conveyed.

Many other netizens also congratulated the winners. They are proud that Kediri City athletes have won achievements in the PON event.

There were 18 athletes from Kediri who competed in PON XX Papua in eight sports, including one weightlifting athlete, seven athletic athletes, four handball athletes, one futsal athlete, one swimming athlete, one artistic gymnastics athlete, one soccer athletes, two taekwondo athletes.

The City Government of Kediri also provides support for them at the time of departure by providing stimulant money.
