Mamuju Residents Can Still Smile Amid Flood Disaster, Their Rice Can Still Be Absorbed
WEST SULAWESI - Rice absorption from farmers in Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi Province was not disturbed due to floods that hit several rice production centers in the area.
Head of Bulog Subdivre Mamuju, Faris Sudirman, said that although heavy rains hit parts of West Sulawesi which caused a number of areas, including one of the rice production centers in Kalukku District, Mamuju Regency, to be submerged, the uptake and stock of rice were not disturbed.
"So far, it has not had a significant impact. Unless the rain continues, it could disrupt the supply and absorption of rice from our partners," explained Faris Sudirman, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 6.
He conveyed that the stock of rice in the warehouse of Perum Bulog Subdivre Mamuju currently reaches 1,500 tons and is sufficient for the next six months.
"Currently, the stock of rice in our warehouse (Bulog Subdivre Mamuju) is 1,500 tons and that can cover the needs of the next five to six months," said Faris Sudirman. based on absorption from farmers in the first semester of 2021.
"Especially now, some rice production centers have started planting and some of our milling partners have contacted us to supply rice," said Faris Sudirman.
Perum Bulog Subdivre Mamuju, he said, guarantees the availability of rice stocks until the end of the year. Regarding prices, Faris Sudirman also said that the price of rice in Mamuju Regency is still relatively stable.
