East Java Police Arrest 2 Lobster Seed Couriers In Probolinggo
SURABAYA - The Gakkum Team from the Directorate of Water and Air Police of the East Java Police (Jatim) arrested two couriers selling illegal lobster seeds or fry in Probolinggo.
"The two couriers we arrested are Banyuwangi residents with the initials SS (38) and Probolinggo residents, RAP (28)," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 6.
Gatot said the arrests were made this morning at 08.00 WIB. The arrests began with a community report, which was then forwarded to the Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditpolairud team of the East Java Regional Police by conducting profiling and the identities of the two couriers were found.
"The two couriers moved from Banyuwangi to Probolinggo. Both were arrested in the Probolinggo area," he said.
The modus operandi was that the two perpetrators sent the fries from Banyuwangi to Jakarta using a vehicle. When arrested, both of them could not bring complete permits for the sale of fry.
Meanwhile, the Dirpolairud of the East Java Police, Kombes Arnapi, emphasized that this case would continue to be developed for investors and their custodians.
"From the results of the initial examination, this perpetrator has made three deliveries. In addition to the officers, the two couriers claimed to be paid Rp. 3 million," he said.
Apart from arresting the two couriers, the police also confiscated 38,400 pieces of evidence and a car used as a means of carrying the fries.
For their actions, both of them were subject to Article 92 in conjunction with Article 26 paragraph (1) of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation in conjunction with Law Number 45 of 2009 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 2004 concerning Fisheries in conjunction with Articles 55 and 56 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 8 years in prison. .
