Expanding The Construction Of Gas Jars, Pertamina Subholding Collaborates With Developers

JAKARTA - In order to expand the use of natural gas for households in the Pantai Indah Kapuk area, North Jakarta, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) cooperates with a number of developers.

This collaboration includes the Mediterranean Golf Hill Area (PIK), Maju Beach Area (Golf Island), Kita Beach Area (River Walk), PIK 2 Area and PIK 2 Extension. Gas needs in the area will be served in stages starting in 2022, with an estimated 3 million M³/month.

"The distribution of natural gas in residential areas is part of our target to expand the development of gas lines and reach the target of 4 million SRT (household connections)," said PGN Director of Sales and Operations Faris Aziz in an official statement, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 6.

He said, his party cooperated with developers because in carrying out the assignment to build gas networks, they could not run alone. So PGN took the initiative to cooperate with developers.

In addition, PGN and KIS will also carry out the development of a power plant and conversion of KIS' operational vehicles from oil fuel to natural gas (BBG) as well as the development of operation and maintenance services for infrastructure in the area.

"We hope that this collaboration can continue and we also convey that in the future, PGN will continue to distribute natural gas by utilizing non-pipeline natural gas (beyond pipeline) modes, in the form of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and/or Liquified Natural Gas (CNG).
