Ministry Of PUPR Ready To Operate 1,000 Houses In Bengkulu

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is ready to implement the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) program or often called house renovation, for as many as 1,000 uninhabitable houses in Bengkulu.

"We are ready to push for the BSPS Program in Bengkulu Province with a target of 1,000 uninhabitable houses," said Director General of Housing at the PUPR Ministry, Khalawi Abdul Hamid, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 6.

He stated that the implementation of the BSPS Program in Bengkulu was carried out in eight districts with a budget of Rp. 20 billion.

According to Khalawi, during this pandemic the BSPS program is needed so that people can avoid exposure to COVID-19.

This, he said, is because by living in a livable house, people's health conditions can be better maintained and of course make the environment better.

In the implementation of the BSPS Program, he added, his party also dispatched Field Facilitators who were tasked with assisting the community. Thus, the use of the BSPS Program budget can be monitored properly and the quality of the building is also stronger and has a good construction.

"The total budget that we disbursed for the BSPS Program in Bengkulu Province is Rp. 20 billion. We also continue to coordinate with the local government so that people who really need assistance can be properly recorded," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Implementation Center for the Provision of Housing for the Sumatra IV Region, Tambat Yulis, accompanied by the Head of the Bengkulu Housing Provision Work Unit, Faizal Rozi, said the locations for the distribution of the BSPS program in the eight regencies were South Bengkulu Regency (130 units), Central Bengkulu Regency (160 units). units), North Bengkulu Regency (120 units).

Then, in Kaur Regency (120 units), Kepahiang Regency (194 units), Muko-Muko Regency (50 units), Rejang Lebong Regency (110 units) and Seluma Regency (116 units).

"We hope that the community can carry out this activity by working together and helping each other between communities. The regional government can also carry out a similar program so that more people are helped so that their area can be free from uninhabitable houses," he said.
