Tangerang Tourist Dies Due To Desperate Swimming In Curug Cikaso Sukabumi
SUKABUMI - A tourist from Tangerang Regency, Banten died at the Curug Cikaso tourist attraction, Ciniti Village, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, Wednesday due to reckless swimming at the edge of the waterfall.
According to the information gathered, the victim was identified as Afan Ramadhan (23) a resident of Perum Puri Asih Opium, Legok, Tangerang Regency. This young man came to a natural tourist attraction located in Cibitung Village/Subdistrict with several of his colleagues.
"The victim was still desperate to enter the water and even swam to the edge of the waterfall, but when he was about to get ashore the victim fell and hit his head on the river rocks and died on the spot," said Chairman of the Sukabumi Regency SAR Coordination Forum Okih Pajri Assidiq quoted by Antara, Wednesday. , October 6th.
Information gathered from Sarda personnel of Sukabumi Regency, using the victim's car, came with four colleagues from Tangerang Regency to Curug Cikaso for a tour.
When he arrived at the location of the mainstay natural tourist attraction of Sukabumi Regency, this young man instead of resting first like his four colleagues who chose to relax for a moment at the stalls around Curug Cikaso.
But Afan chose to go straight to the waterfall and prepared to swim. The owner of the shop and the cleaning staff who were not far from the victim tried to remind them not to swim, even though the appeal was repeated because the flow of the Curug Cikaso river was not safe to swim in.
Unfortunately, the victim did not heed the warning and appeal and instead immediately threw himself into the water and was desperate to approach the edge of the waterfall and when he was about to walk to the river bank, the victim suddenly fell and hit his head on a rock, allegedly his legs were unable to withstand the swift currents under the river. .
The shop owner who was suspicious because Afan's body did not reappear ashore went straight to the location with four of the victim's colleagues. Sure enough, when we saw the condition of the victim, he was not moving and floating on the river bank.
Residents who heard of the drowning tourists immediately rushed to the location to provide assistance with the victim's colleagues using makeshift tools.
It is strongly suspected that the victim died when his head hit a rock when he fell and his body fell back into the river and drowned. His body only emerged to the surface after 30 minutes of sinking at the bottom of the river.
"Actually, at the time of the incident, the surface current of the waterfall was not too strong and the volume of the waterfall was not too large. But it is possible that the victim could not save himself because the wound on his head was quite severe, plus after the fall his body went back into the water and was sucked in by a fairly heavy undercurrent of the river. , he added.
Okih said the victim had been evacuated to the ground and immediately taken to the Jampangkulon Hospital for identification and this accident case had been fully handled by the Surade Police.
