Kemenkoninfo Closes Fake Care Sites That Ask To Pay Rp1 Million For Vaccines List
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) has cut off access to the carendungiq.com site which uses logo, image, and theme attributes to resemble the official carelindungi.id website.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Communication and Information, Dedy Permadi, explained that his party had found the carelindungiq.com site, which is a fake site and not a site used by the government in handling COVID-19.
"All the contents and information on the carelindungiq.com website are not related to the Pedulilindungi.id website and are not related to the government's efforts to handle COVID-19 in any form," said Dedy in his official statement, Wednesday, October 6.
From Dedy's statement, the carelindungiq.com site requires a payment of IDR 1,000,000 for registration for the COVID-19 vaccination. It should be noted that the PeduliLindung application and the official carelindungi.id site do not charge users for any purposes, including for vaccine registration purposes.
Meanwhile, Dedy added that the perpetrators behind the caringlindungiq.com site must be responsible for the act of falsifying the carelindungi.id site. He also appealed to the public to only access the official website of carelindungi.id.
Most importantly, Dedy suggested that people download the official PeduliLindung application which is available on the App Store and Google Play Store.
"We also urge the public to always be aware of any disinformation related to fake sites and applications on behalf of the PeduliLindung application," said Dedy.
If the public finds a site or application other than the official PeduliLindung application, Dedy asks the public to report to aduankonten.id or other content complaint channels that have been provided by the Ministry of Communication and Information.
