Midnight, Gowa Police Detainees Managed To Escape, CCTV Caught When Picked Up By Friends
MAKASSAR - A prisoner with the initials RA was caught on CCTV or surveillance cameras when he managed to escape by jumping over the back fence at the Gowa District Police Office, South Sulawesi.
"So he (RA) was caught on CCTV. He was picked up by his friend using a motorbike, through the back," said Gowa Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Boby Rachman when confirmed by reporters in Makassar, reported by Antara, Wednesday, October 6.
He explained that while running away, RA was caught on surveillance camera footage when his colleague picked him up using an automatic motorbike. The incident occurred on Thursday, September 30 at around 01.00 WITA in the morning.
The mode used by RA is to pretend to do activities, then run away. The duty officer on duty when he found out about the incident immediately looked for his whereabouts around the Gowa Police Station, but was not found.
So far, the Gowa Police Resmob team has continued to search for the whereabouts of the perpetrator and re-arrest him, including marking the license plate of his partner's motorbike to help the prisoner escape.
For the case of RA, said Boby, he is a suspect in the case of taking an underage girl away. He was arrested in Maumere, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) three months ago.
"It's been a fingerprinting process. He's a suspect, we've filed a file for his case. The suspect took the victim away and there was also the sexual intercourse of a minor. We're ensnaring the Law on Child Protection, which carries a criminal penalty of more than 15 years in prison," he explained. the demands of the victim's family as a reporter for the incident questioned the whereabouts of the suspect, his party said it was difficult to explain because it was still in the pursuit process.
"It is difficult for us to explain regarding the pursuit of the suspect and make arrests. For the family of the suspect, we have communicated so that they are cooperative, if they know of their whereabouts, they immediately surrender to the Gowa Police," he said.
Asked whether there was a possibility of the suspect escaping outside the province of South Sulawesi, Boby stated that he had coordinated with the police officers on duty at the border, if he saw the victim, he immediately reported it to the Gowa Police for re-arrest.
