While Defecating On The Side Of A River, A Man Is Attacked By A Crocodile In Papua
JAYAPURA - The joint SAR team evacuated the body of Leonardus Bouk, a resident of Nabire Regency, Papua Province, who was killed by a crocodile in Kalibumi Nabire, Monday, July 20.
"It is true that the bodies of the crocodiles were evacuated at night and on Tuesday (21/7) their families have been buried," said Head of Public Relations of Papua Police, Kombea Ahmad Kamal in Jayapura, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, July 21.
He explained that from the reports received, it was revealed that the victim was attacked by a crocodile while defecating on the edge of the river, Monday, July 20. When found, he was already dead.
The incident was initially reported by residents to the Uwapa Sector Police picket, Nabire Police, who reported that a crocodile attacked a missing resident.
The victim shouted for his wife's name and another witness was heard, namely Ely Inuasep, who then came to the location but it appeared that the victim had been caught by a crocodile and taken downstream.
After receiving the report, Kamal said the joint team including Basarnas Nabire conducted a search and found the victim's body about four kilometers from the initial location.
