Time To Listen To CL's Debut Album After Leaving YG
JAKARTA - After leaving YG Entertainment, which raised his name, CL released his debut album via his own record label, suneV (Venus). Through the Kakao M Entertainment sub-label, the singles + DONE161201 + and + REWIND170205 + were chosen as the first two songs released on December 4, 2019.
In order to satisfy his fans, CL also includes a music video for each song. + DONE161201 + features CL colleagues such as BIGBANG's Taeyang, model Kiko Mizuhara, as well as former 2NE1 members; Sandara, Bom, and Minzy. Meanwhile + REWIND170205 + displays a snippet of CL's self with her friends.
Then the following week, the singer and rapper released the music videos for the songs + PARADOX171115 + and + I QUIT180327 +. The first song uses a karaoke screen concept, while the second is filled with people singing using sign language.
Thursday, December 17th, CL released two songs again; + ONE AND ONLY180228 + and + THNX190519 +. The MV for the first song features a snippet of food and fruit formed from plasticine. The next video contains choreographed performances by dancers wearing masks.
Until these six songs were released, CL has not shown herself in the music video. Meanwhile, if you pay attention to each title, there are certain numbers that indicate the time when the song was made.
Fans are eagerly awaiting CL's presence with her new work. Given that after 2NE1 disbanded in 2016 he always promised to make solo projects.
CL was recruited by the owner of Big Machine Records, Scooter Braun to release music and promote in the United States, but this never happened. Braun admitted that there were certain parties who tried to block this effort.
Then, his fans asked CL to leave YG Entertainment immediately. But even that can only be realized when the contract expires.
Hours after her last two singles were released this Thursday, CL released the album In the Name of Love. With the contours of soul and hip-hop music attached, this album is worth recommending especially to those who miss CL's sound.
